Ah yes, "Jody calls," we've all heard them, marched to them, run to them, or called them out in a motivated tone; so, what are some of your all time favorites? As this is an inter-service thread, we want to hear from all of you--Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Reserve of each of the above, and the National Guard--so what are your favorite service-specific cadences, and do you have an old standby or trusty go-to cadence? Perhaps it was one that was once popular but somehow fell out of use, or maybe an just an old standard or unique favorite. Please feel free to share any photos, videos, sound files, stories, associated memories, and/or anything else needed to help to tell your story. I'm sure that an old classic or two comes to mind, so "one, two, three, four-or... this is what we're here for-or..." My first duty assignment we had a very dynamic company commander. He made up cadences for the unit. He had one called "Wing-dang-doo" I can't say the words to the cadence due to it being so un-PC. The assignment seemed almost magical. Hard work, serious unit cohesion, & a commander that could get give motivational speeches that the entire company would follow him to the pits of Hell. In essence, the cadence by itself is not much but the memory of an awesome unit & exciting times is what makes it my favorite.

At OCS, one of the other companies was always marching around to the tune of Barbie Girl..... That was always good for a laugh.

She Wore A Yellow Ribbon. Every time I see the movie and hear the song, its catchy. And I know its a Calvary song, but the AF tends to use it too.

Cadence calling is one thing I have always liked since I joined the military. I believe it makes running fun, the crazier the cadence the better. My favorite cadence is kook-aid kook-aid.

I like silence, I used to run sprints in High school and College. I like to focus on my form and breathing. Silence is golden.

The purpose of cadence is so that those that didn't run in high school and college can, basically, be forced to work on their breathing without even thinking about it. I ran distance track and cross country so, like you, I'm not a fan of cadence runs. But I understand their purpose.
