What's your favorite "military memorial?"

The California Capitol park has many memorials covering its history. &nbsp;The California Veteran's Memorial is one of my favorite. &nbsp;It covers all members in all services on one obelisk. &nbsp;We are all veterans serving one purpose.<div><br></div>

the American Cemetery in&nbsp;Manila, Philippines, is my favorite. It has huge mosaics of all the major battles in the pacific and huge marble walls with all the dead from&nbsp;WW2 pacific on them.&nbsp;Plus a beautiful location on a hilltop in a nice part of town. Awe inspiring.&nbsp;

I have to say that Arlington was very moving.&nbsp; Next in line would be the Ranger Memorial.<br>

memorial for the soldier who lost there lives in Afghanistan from July 2009-July 2010 in 5-2SBCT&nbsp;Memorial in Puyallup, WA. 3 soldiers on there from my company B Co 4-23 IN RIP SGT Smith, SGT Reynolds and SPC White KIA 24 Sept 2009 in Omar Zai in the Zabul Province.

Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Frankfort, KY. &nbsp;"<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">The blue-gray granite plaza of the Memorial contains the names of Kentucky’s 1103 citizens who died. Each name is precisely located so the shadow of the sundial pointer, or gnomon (pronounced ‘noman’), touches each veteran’s name on the anniversary of his death. Thus, each individual is honored with a personal tribute."</span>

I realize this is ostentatious, however, the greatest military memorial is the exercise of liberty.<div><br></div><div>That being said, I do like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in DC. &nbsp;I am one of the fortunate children of that generation. &nbsp;My father and both uncles served in Vietnam. My father and one uncle were in the Army, the other uncle in the Air Force.&nbsp;</div><div>They all came home.</div>

of the National Guard who served in Europe in World War I and II. National
Guard units landed as part of the Normandy assault on June 6, 1944. On the ends
of the memorial are bronze plaques thanking the people of Vierville-sur-Mer for
helping to build and preserve this memorial and the valiant Free French Forces
who also fought to liberate this land. The inside walls of the memorial are
inscribed with the stirring story of the National Guard units who fought during

There are several that I have visited over the years. But one where you not only can touch history but remember the sacrifices made, not only in one war but three is Battleship Cove in Fall River Mass. http://www.battleshipcove.com/ The Battleship Massachusetts is not only a memorial to WWII Vets across the country to on board is Memorial to all those that served from the State of Massachusetts that died during the war. The Destroyer Joseph P. Kennedy is a memorial to both Korean and Vietnam with the same type of Memorials on board. The Submarine Lionfish is for those that gave their lives in the Silent Service. And Two PT Boats for those that served on them and sacrificed their lives as well as being the type of ship piloted by the Future President John F. Kennedy.&nbsp; <br><br>Another Memorial is at my High School where I graduated from. It lists all those from Manchester, CT that fought in WWII. <br><br>The Bunker Hill Monument and the USS Constitution, are other memorials in Boston Mass. that are dedicated to the Revolutionary War battle and the War of 1812. Along with the Vietnam Memorial. <br><br>There are others and some have already been mentioned.
