What's your favorite military song?

There are a ton of great songs about military life, that reference the military in some way; some of the more modern works may have a video associated with it, and some of the older classics continue to define the military experience to this day. From country to rock, ballads & pop, to more traditional flavors--did a particular song inspire, educate, or simply strike a chord with you? Please feel free to share any inspiring military-related music, any music or songs that makes you think of/or reminds you of your military service, as well as any links, photos, descriptions or anything that helps you tell your story. The idea here is to have a fun and thought provoking discussion, which will be fun, informative, and provide a means to tell our stories... and to learn about one another as well as our sister services in the process. Wishing you all the best, I look forward to hearing from you, and interacting with you all in the threads!

There is an old song that has been around for many years. I like the Johnny Horton song "Sink The Bismark." There are a lot of current songs, mostly on the country charts that honor service. But one of the best is Billy Ray Cyrus' "Some Gave All."

I'm surprised no one's posted any of the RedCon-1 Music Groups songs.

Without a doubt the best song to get you pumped for doing something awesome is THUNDERSTRUCK! If you don't at least appreciate "Acca Dacca" as our allies from down under call them, you should seek another line of work.

I have three favorites (not sure if this first qualifies as a military song or not).

1. Star Spangled Banner

2. Army Song

3. Marine Hymn

For less formal occasions, like PT, there are two "must haves"

1. Warrior's Song - Hard Corps

2. Warrior's Song - Army

Most people can't get into hardcore/thrash, but the message in this style of music is usually deeper than anything else out there. It's definitely an acquired taste, and you'll either love it, or hate it. If you've never worked out listening to Hatebreed, you don't know what you're missing. Pure, raw, power.

Do you have one? It can be one from a deployment that you listened to before missions, a song before a PFT, etc. Just interested to see the trends especially with deployments music throughout the services as well as with the diverse group we have here which includes some Vietnam vets, Gulf war vets, and of course OIF/OEF vets.
