There are a ton of great songs about military life, that reference the military in some way; some of the more modern works may have a video associated with it, and some of the older classics continue to define the military experience to this day. From country to rock, ballads & pop, to more traditional flavors--did a particular song inspire, educate, or simply strike a chord with you? I know that I shared a lot of songs before, but I just have to share this one, specifically because it is kind of personal for me. I always had a special place in my heart for those in the military, but didn't actually plan on joining. After 9-11 I decided that I needed to join the service. Like many of those who joined back then, I did not do it for the money, as a matter of fact I took a huge pay cut to join.
One of the most poignant songs ever written about 9/11. The song really touches me because 9/11/2001 was my 25th wedding anniversary and we were on a Caribbe...

That would be Liberty Bell March! I was at Lakenheath England when the British Base Commander position changed and they actually played it for the ceremony, you could hear a snicker going through those who were standing at attention.
