There are a ton of great songs about military life, that reference the military in some way; some of the more modern works may have a video associated with it, and some of the older classics continue to define the military experience to this day. From country to rock, ballads & pop, to more traditional flavors--did a particular song inspire, educate, or simply strike a chord with you? Please feel free to share any inspiring military-related music, any music or songs that makes you think of/or reminds you of your military service, as well as any links, photos, descriptions or anything that helps you tell your story. The idea here is to have a fun and thought provoking discussion, which will be fun, informative, and provide a means to tell our stories... and to learn about one another as well as our sister services in the process. Wishing you all the best, I look forward to hearing from you, and interacting with you all in the threads!

Gory Gory What a helluva way to die. Here is an oldie but goody from the Vietnam War "I think I'm fixin to die rag" by Country Joe MacDonald and the fish. They did it live at Woodstock, but I believe it could be just as relevant today as it was then. The only difference is there is no draft now.

I don't think this may constitute as a "military" song. But I dig and my vote goes to Creedence Clearwater Revivial: Fortunate Son

The Ballad Of The Green Beret!  Heard it first played by my Dad when I was just a wee lad and it's stuck with me ever since.

I know that I shared a lot of songs before, but I just have to share this one, specifically because it is kind of personal for me.  I always had a special place in my heart for those in the military, but didn't actually plan on joining.  After 9-11 I decided that I needed to join the service.  Like many of those who joined back then, I did not do it for the money, as a matter of fact I took a huge pay cut to join.

That would be Liberty Bell March!  I was at Lakenheath England when the British Base Commander position changed and they actually played it for the ceremony, you could hear a snicker going through those who were standing at attention.
