There are a ton of great songs about military life, that reference the military in some way; some of the more modern works may have a video associated with it, and some of the older classics continue to define the military experience to this day. From country to rock, ballads & pop, to more traditional flavors--did a particular song inspire, educate, or simply strike a chord with you? Please feel free to share any inspiring military-related music, any music or songs that makes you think of/or reminds you of your military service, as well as any links, photos, descriptions or anything that helps you tell your story. The idea here is to have a fun and thought provoking discussion, which will be fun, informative, and provide a means to tell our stories... and to learn about one another as well as our sister services in the process. Wishing you all the best, I look forward to hearing from you, and interacting with you all in the threads!

As others have said, its not a military song per se; but we were listening "For Those About to Rock (we salute you)" by AC/DC when we crossed the berm in '91. So it holds military memories for me.

I've already said "Anchors Aweigh" a long time ago but I'll always remember graduation at San Diego NTC before going into the real Navy!

I am fond of Hero of the Day by Metallica. It was released back before the rah rah flag waving support our troops campaign was popular and profitable. No, it doesn't paint things in red white and blue chest blazing pride but it is still a powerful song for me.
