If it is hunting season, I will be sitting in my hunting saddle about 20-25 feet up a tree awaiting a chance to take a deer with my bow. If it’s not hunting season I will either be on my recumbent bike on the smart trainer or on the Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga Trail or a mountain bike trail. All of the above are great ways for me to leave the rest of the world behind and chill.

I go to the barn and hang out with my miniature horses, hug on my mini donkey, feed the chickens, sit with the dogs, and just be thankful that I have God's amazing creatures to appreciate.

I started painting about 3 years ago to help. Your focus changes your anxiety and depression. No experience, that’s ok, I never took a painting class.

Funny how as a kid I never thought twice about walking in the grass barefoot. Last year I started doing this again as a way to take a moment. There is actually some science that show this as a benefit.

For me, it’s prayer, gratitude and Bible study. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has seen me through the valleys and the mountains. While I may not always know my purpose, I know He will guide me. Finding things to be thankful for has improved my mood more than any pill or treatment I have received.

I take a day off and clean. There is nothing like a good ol' gi party :) to make me feel like a new person. I blast my music like my TI used to do and just go to town on my house. I feel like once my house is in order and sparkling clean, I am able to put the rest of what is going on in perspective and give to God whatever I cannot control. Even the smell of Lysol can relax me :)

Slowing Down & Breathing into the Moment. Taking a long walk in nature, dancing to inspirational music, journaling, gardening, meditation, yoga, exercise with my local MOVE community, making art, writing poetry, ... Being Creative really brings me back to life! I think we tend to forget the things we loved as children because of all the perceived seriousness of being an adult. I often reflect upon what my younger Self would like to do & that's when I am inspired most! Old joys & inspirations reappear like "how could I have forgotten that!?"

I go for long walks on the ocean. The sounds and smell of the ocean, chirping birds and occasional sightings of dolphins ( haven’t spotted a whale…… yet), is so peaceful and relaxing. It’s almost like time stops and life’s problems seem so far away. Nature is the best medicine.
