I would spend the entire day with my two girls (dogs) because they know when you are not feeling good or are upset with about something. Dogs are a Mans best friend and the love that you get from them is always a way of picking myself up especially when they want to play ball you forget about things for the time being

skiing in the winter. you really can't let your mind wander while skiing or the snow snakes will get you. :- ) when I can't ski, I play pickleball or powerwalk or anything athletic outside. something about the fresh air, sunshine (even on a cloudy day) helps me. actually is the infusion of dopamine & serotonin form exercise & sunshine that calms me down. In addition, I jot down notes on what is going on with me and discuss it with my clinical psychologist and he usually does some EMDR on me --best thing for complex PTSD

I relax by music; I remember when I was transitioning from one area of operations to another that I used to go either to the hangar bay or the deck and just listen to music. It between war zones it always relaxed me. Took my mind of the hazards ahead and the hazards I left behind. God Bless all those who are down range. Keep your heads down and may you return home soon. God Bless

I find it relaxing to was and wax my car. Put on some oldies on the radio and drink a cup of Joe during the process.

Forest Bathing is my go-to method for mental and spiritual reinvigoration, when possible. It's a Japanese concept, that was introduced to me while I was living in Germany. It is an opportunity to practice your sense of presence, connect with nature, and calm the mind.

A bag of mushrooms, or marijuana, and a long hike. Esp. hiking by moving water if possible. The sounds of the ocean or a moving river is very grounding and soothing. Puts me in the right space for meditation

Fishing. It doesn't matter if I am sitting on a lake shore, on my boat, on the ice, wading in the river, or on the ocean. As long as I have a fishing pole in my hand, nothing else matters.

I can't help how I feel, but I can help how I think and act and how I think and act will determine how I feel.
