1. Get into vehicle
2. Find a wee spot at the far end of a very large parking lot
3. Turn up the bass on the vehicle's audio settings
4. Pick a double-base drum rock album (Five Finger Death Punch is always a good choice)
5. Play said rock album for however long is needed
6. While listening to said rock album - do not hold back on screams, hand drumming on the dash or steering wheel, head banging, or singing along at the top of the lungs - if tears come, let it flow as needed (hense a wee spot at the far end of a parking lot)
7. Do said practice until exhaustion or all tension seems worked out - you'll know
8. Go home and get the most restful sleep ever, albeit probably with no voice the next day - Worth it every time

Note: Hella hydrate throughout and after

Being outside in nature, walking in a park. Also, listening to YouTube videos on meditation that can be done on any schedule.

I generally don't get more than a minute or two to relax but I try to close my eyes and focus on my breathing until I forget what was bothering me.

My go to distresser is flyfishing or just a long walk in the woods

I need to do more fishing. I used to fish a lot and it helps.

I pray, exercise, and go see my therapist. In that order. Repeat. Often I do not pray or exercise enough. The depression can be debilitating. But it is all necessary for good mental health. And for a mental health reset.

I surf! The ocean heals, the exercise gets everything out of me until I am 'empty' inside again and all worries dissipate. I also do a LET GO exercise where you allow these feelings to be acknowledged, NOT stuffed, and as you allow that, they let YOU go. Simple yet profound.

Hunting and Fishing is my go safe place when I need a reset. Being outdoors has always been a staple for me to unplug from the rush of life and reconnect with myself.

I take a bath with essential oils of ylang ylang and bergamot as they are both useful for boosting mood and releasing stress. I also take ashwaghanda to help support my adrenal glands through stressful times.
