Lately it’s been my 17 month old son. I’ve been trying to find friends to connect with but it’s summer. Everyone has plans and what not. I just focus on him and how time will continue to press on. So I just try to breathe and enjoy one day at a time

I like to do a lot of regulated breathing. Concentrating on how I am taking each breath helps reset my brain and has a calming effect.

I used to love running to get faster, but now I love doing distance runs to clear my mind. It’s also a great way to not only clear my mind, but give me better health overall. An inactive mental health reset is lying outside, day or night and just watching the sky/ clouds/ birds/ planes (everything up above). Or if you live on the coast, drive to the beach and watch the waves crash into shore.

I walk the beach. But i don't have to actually be on the beach. I imagine myself at a beach in South Carolina that I've walked many times. I imagine my bare feet in the sand and start walking. It has me living in that moment not the past or worrying about the future.

My go-to method for a mental health reset is being outdoors in nature and pushing myself physically. There's something magical about immersing myself in the beauty of the natural world, away from the stress and noise of daily life. Whether it's hiking up a trail or seeking out a peak, the moment I'm surrounded by nature, all my problems seem to melt away. The only thing that matters is the journey ahead, finding that perfect spot, or reaching the summit. The physical exertion combined with the serenity of nature creates a profound sense of peace and clarity in my mind. It's my sanctuary, a place where I can reset and find balance, recharging my mental well-being and finding solace in the simplicity of the outdoors.

My go to is MUSIC. Whether I sing for a few hours, dance about to the various songs, or simply get lost in the beat and Melodie’s this music truly opens a space to escape into. Music is hands down BEST alleviate for my stress.

When I need to decompress, or the world seems claustrophobic, I like to walk through the woods, go hiking, or just walk barefoot through the grass or on the beach. Some people think it is weird but I like to listen to Native American songs and chants because it does something to my soul I can't explain. The ocean, lakes, and nature are my way of connecting to the earth and myself in ways that make me put things into perspective. It gives me a strong sense of gratitude and makes my feelings of 'being closed in' disappear with the vastness of our beautiful planet, instead I feel strength that I chose to be here in this time for a reason and my heart feels full.
