My go to method for a mental health reset is listening to calming music (mostly instrumental), practicing yoga and spending time outside either biking or walking through the woods.

I go walking in the woods alone for hours, letting my mind go where it wants to. It may not be for everyone, but when I leave the woods, I am tired and at peace.

I have found that it really comes down to practicing mindsets and understanding that my thoughts are not who or what I am.

I have really enjoyed meditation, yoga and using different online sources to help when I need a mindset shift. The PTSD program the VA offers in my experience is one of the best with helping to shift mindsets and allow your mind to heal and succeed.

If there is a program for veterans to take advantage of the benefits of yoga for mind and body then I would highly recommend taking advantage of such a proggram!

My go to is always nature. It truly centers me. I'll take a hike any day of the week to relieve stress. Even better than that is going to the beach. Unfortunately, there aren't any beaches in Arizona yet.
