My mental health reset is typically my anything with my dog. I know it sounds cliche but he gives Amazing hugs. He understands when I feel down and will try to cheer me up. Going for hikes and just relaxing at home on the couch with him is the all I need. He doesn't understand when I talk to him but he has such understanding eyes. He's a good boy to say the least lol

My go-to method for a mental health reset is yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises. I have found that breathing exercises and focusing on my breathing in a stressful time can really help ground me. I was introduced to all of these techniques from a VA facility and I’m grateful they offered these awesome mental health tools.

I start off with prayer for whatever the situation is. Then I will either zone out with an audiobook, spend some time with the pup or go to sleep.

When I'm feeling like I need to help improve my mental state, I'll usually go out, especially in nature, and walk around for a bit. I try to pay attention to the sounds of the animals, feel the breeze, and watch the trees sway in the wind. Sometimes, I might listen to my playlist, which has piano music and jazz mixed together. I'm also a realist artist, so this helps inspire new things for my art pieces later on

I knit, read for enjoyment, or spend time in my hammock for relaxation.

Spending time with my three Standard Poodles. They provide so much unconditional love and always know how I am feeling. I don't know what I would do without them!

Sitting down next to family and listening to what is going on in their lives and simply providing guidance.

My go to is simply grabbing my basketball and shooting hoops in my driveway. It's sort of an oasis for me and I do it year round.
