I do yoga five times a week as soon as I wake up. This puts me in the right frame of mind for anything that happens in the day ahead. My cardio workouts (running, biking) are also great for mental resets and stress release.

I like to ride my bicycle. When I ride, I meditate and pray. And sometimes I have a lot to meditate and pray about!

In the past during my hardest time, my mental health reset was working out. My reset now is gaming with my online pals on variety of online games. Spending time with family and enjoying time we have together. We also game together and the kids love that.

I go for a long ride in the back country roads on my Goldwing motorcycle. Feeling the fresh air and being close to nature and having nothing but time to think and enjoy the ride is a great way to escape and refresh the mind & soul.

I have a variety of skills in my "Mental Health Toolbox" which I practice to maintain a calm, clear headed and anxiety free mind in this chaotic world. But first, I can't emphasize enough the importance of going to a VA Treatment Center. That has helped me the most; and it has honestly saved my life on more than one occasion. It is the healing combination of the doctors and counselors, the therapy, the education, the medication, the ability to exercise and practice good nutrition - and the opportunity to heal among other Veterans so that I don't feel so isolated and alone that has helped me out of the painful darkness and given me the ability to live a healthier and happier life: Body, Mind and Spirit. If a Veteran hasn't experienced some type of treatment, I truly encourage them to try it - for themselves and their families - as it's truly lifesaving. It clears away the fog, confusion and pain. One cannot heal this mental health battle alone. So, it is this healing combination of factors that has helped me the most. And I leave treatment with an arsenal of skills in my toolbox. However, when life starts to feel dark, painful and unbearable, I have returned to a treatment center to receive the lifesaving practices that help me carry on in this journey of learning to heal from the past.

I have a few different ways to destress. I go and sit at the beach and watch the waves taking it all in and thinking thru the situations, try to clear my head, or I'll go to the gym with my son and get on one of the no impact arc machines, put headphones in and just focus on the music while going at my own pace on the machine, and third, which is what I do several times a week, literally just get onto a game like COD with my other friends and fellow veterans and just play, it's a great destressor plus being able to talk it out with ppl that understand has been a huge help.

JUST TAKE A MENTAL HEALTH MINI VACATION- EITHER STAYCATION FOR NEAR HOME. IF UNABLE TO DO THAT JUST DRINKING A COKE ZERO/DIET COKE OR A YUMMY SNACK HELPS RESET ME A LITTLE :)

My go-to is usually listening to music and relaxing outside and taking in nature as best as I can. Get some snacks and drinks depending on the weather and just chill and try let my mind slow down.

There are two different levels of mental health. 1. The daily grind. My go to is to walk, ruck, or use the elliptical. Just stay active. 2. When facing a more severe mental state, then it is time to go to yoga. It has already 'saved' my life twice. So to paraphrase Dory, just keep yoga-ing.

My go-to for mental and spiritual health is the Bible and the time I spend reading it in the morning before starting my day.
