When my anxiety has peaked, and my stress has me knotted up, I head to the ski slopes, but in the summer. I take my mountain bike, get lifted to one of the tallest mountains, and start taking runs down the mountain. Slow at first, then gradually building speed and technicality as the day goes on. By the end of the day, my mind is crystal clear, my muscles are a ‘good’ sore, and there is nothing that can rattle me.

Tai Chi is one of the ways that I reset my mental health. Guitar Pickin' is another. I'm 70% service connected disabled for PTSD.

I love exercising in the mornings to help me “prepare” for the day. When I need a mental reset during the day, I would play a mindless game on my phone for a few minutes to clear my mind. Other times, just stopping to appreciate and be grateful for what I have so far in life helps me de-stress.

My GO TO is cooking in all forms. I have 4 BBQ pits and they all serve their purpose along with my griddle and camp stove. Brisket, babybacks, chicken, sausage, tripas, carne asada, salsas and in the kitchen Korean and just about any tother Asian food. Salads, Italian and Mexican!!! and of course the good ole Burger!!! My foundation was being a cook in the Air Force and I carried 3 other AFSC's with 2 7 levels and 2 special duties. But cooking along with listening to my Oldies and a full Ice chest to quench my thirst is my GO TO, so relaxing!!!!. I only cook at home and no Taco Truck for me. I am Retired!! My profile pic shows my 2 sons (Army and Navy) and 2 of my nephews (Marine and Air Force) and I am Air Force!!!
SALUD!!! to all of our Brothers and Sisters in Uniform, Veterans, POWS, to those who have passed and especially to the Fallen. God Bless!!!
