Me, too, but it's probably because it's full of foul language & images denigrating women.

Why are quotation marks used around “rap”?
That said, all types of music is used by the military for recruiting purposes. The military uses all types of stuff for recruiting, period. For example, “Nascar”, “Nhra top fuel drag racing”...I guess.
I’d rather have a song with a good beat

Honestly I just stay in my lane and do my job. I don’t worry about what the army does or uses to recruit. As long as the joes want to be here and do their job I don’t care.

You should listen to "Round out the Tank" by Mystikal. If he was not such a shithead I think it would be a great recruiting tool.

SFC Joseph Weber
SGT (Join to see) - I did not. Just referring to his rape conviction and current charges.

SFC Joseph Weber - in all fairness, he went to prison for sexual battery and extortion. But potato, potahto.
A registered sex offender (I think he did time for tax evasion, too) definitely falls under ‘shithead’.

If it's effective at bringing in good troops, I have no problem at all with it.

LTC Kevin B. The key word here Colonel is "good" troops. This may be stereotyping but most of my students who are really into rap are not ones I would want in any branch of the military. (Notice I didn't say all, I said "most.")

Wouldn't be the first time. Around the time I enlisted in LA in 1993, there was a radio ad with bad original rap music "kickin' it in the Army" on heavy rotation.
I joined anyway.

Intake?
in·take
Dictionary result for intake
/ˈinˌtāk/
noun
noun: intake; plural noun: intakes
1.
an amount of food, air, or another substance taken into the body.
What is your "take" on the army using rap music for recruiting.
My take on it is that they should be worried about teaching soldiers proper grammar and vocabulary, so they do not embarrass themselves using the wrong word when asking a question.

SPC Chris Ison gentlemen, is this the right venue for your conversation? It sounds rather like a couple of alley cats w their tails in a wringer. Wringer (ring er) device for eliminating excess water in laundry to facilitate quick drying.

SPC Chris Ison - “ Verbal noun? what the fuck is a "verbal noun" there are nouns or verbs, not verbal nouns”. Really? C’mon now.
ver·bal noun
/ˈvərbəl noun/
nounGRAMMAR
noun: verbal noun; plural noun: verbal nouns
a noun formed by inflection of a verb and partly sharing its constructions
Example: “Smoking is forbidden”.
What word in the above sentence is the verbal noun?
If you’re going to preach grammar, you should understand the basics of grammar.
