What should I do if I missed making E-5 because my unit took out my last weapons qualification and put my old one on DTMS?

I shot in Jan 2019. Ppw and Srb reflected from Jan-jul. pcsed and my new unit took off my last qual and in August/September it showed I last shot jul 2018. I noticed it and turned in my most recent qual. They never updated dtms. I missed 5 by 9 points

There's nothing you can do. As a 42A you should be somewhat familiar with promotions. A few years ago the reg was changed to make it so that even if the unit was at fault, if the SM missed points, HRC will allow the promotion to be back dated. Years ago the BDE CDR could approve an exception to policy to allow a SM to have their points reevaluated if the unit made a mistake and the SM missed promotion due to no fault of their own.

SFC (Join to see) Back in early 96, when I was trying to make SSG, I had to go to the Post Promotions Office because they didn't add up my points correctly. Guess they didn't know how to a calculator correctly. I got everything fixed. They back dated my points but couldn't back date my promotion. There wasn't any exception to policy back then. So I had to wait to get pinned because the points for my secondary zone went up to 798 for a few months. After I went up to get the correction made, my BN CSM told me that I was not allowed up there without my 1SG. I guess they didn't like me pointing out that they couldn't do point tabulation worth shit. But I still made 6 in 6, which was very hard to do at the time.

SGM Steve Wettstein I had a similar situation happen when I went to for E5 board. My S1 failed to add any of the points at all. When I pointed it out, they refused to admit their mistake and it took another 6 months to get it corrected and promoted. I was prepared the next promotion board. I maxed my points out and pinned E6 in just over 6 years. Admittedly, a lot easier to do in 2008 than in 96. I still remember in 98 meeting only one person who ever made 6 in 6, and he worked at the Pentagon

They used to, but APFT and weapons qual is now solely on company training and DTMS. Also I just PCSED to the unit
