I leave July 30th, and I want to know what lies ahead for me beforehand.

It's better that you go in knowing nothing. It will save you pain and misery when the drill sergeant spends less time helping you unlearn all of those bad things.

wish I could give you more specific details but I'm not a scout, I will say all the military training I have been through has common themes. Do what you are told, when you are told to do it and be in the right place at the right time in the right uniform and you will be alright good luck

I'm not really sure how to answer that, I guess I would have to say be prepared to get smoked.( lots of push-ups and sit-ups for no reason or running) lot of things have changed since I went through basic some people say that the DI's don't yell anymore a new recruits some say they do. I thought I was in a very good shape when I left I grew up on a very big dairy farm lot of lifting the hard work it was nothing compared to what I had when I got to basic. I thought I was in good shape but apparently not as well as I could or should have been. Guys that have one through the scouts say the same thing now they still get yelled at screamed at and smoked. But no worries the reason they do that is to break you down and build you up into a good soldier. Good luck
