Congress should approve a 3% increase in Social Security Benefits for any veteran with an honorable discharge that is drawing Social Security. The amount really is minimal, but it may prove to be an enticement.
Another option would be for Uncle Sam to work out a deal with the auto manufactures, in which they bailed out, that would allow any ACTIVE-DUTY member the ability to purchase a NEW vehicle, at a VERY discounted price.
Work out a deal with the cell phone carriers so that ALL ACTIVE-DUTY members receive a free cell phone with monthly service discounted at 50%.
Increase the number of recruiters to allow for a much more PRO-ACTIVE approach to recruiting. Get the recruiters out of the office and back into the schools and public view.
Invite interested High School Juniors and Seniors to spend a weekend at a military base of the branch they are most interested in. Treat it like a collage recruitment, stop waiting for them to come to you, GO GET THEM.

There's more than just one answer, there are many:
1st: Go to the school systems and volunteer for career days, field days, and set up booths at fairs, Fall festivals, school outreach programs. Showing the many benefits and telling individual stories.
2nd: Go to rest homes/nursing homes and in the communities and volunteer to take them to Veterans Day Parades and show them off! A life well lived. Let them tell their stories. Create a meeting place where they can come and drink coffee and such, and bring certain school clubs to sponsor, come to the the meeting places and let them ask questions, visit and listen to these everyday legends.
3rd: Within your Church or community clubs, organizations, include and encourage young students and older students and college students to volunteer to journal their stories for their families and it will be of benefit to both the Veteran, their families and the ones reporting/writing it all down for future generations!
Instilling Patriotism is planted in others one deed at a time. My earliest remembrance was in 2nd grade, with Ms. Edith Richards, simply saying the Pledge of Allegiance!
Thank y'all for asking.

I think we should do like in previous generations is to be honest about what to expect, while also letting them know about all the great opportunities for training and future career paths. I know a lot of soldiers go in because of the GI Bill; I know I did. But I didn't know anything about the VA home loan and other incentives beyond education that I could receive during and after service

If you wanna encourage the next generation to join the military you need to get rid of the wokeness in the military. And we need to stick to the strict PT requirements. I recently heard that if you’re transgender you don’t have to do the PT requirements that does nothing for having a military that’s ready to fight. We need tough men and women to be in the military not pansies.

Oh you recently heard.. Just what were you listening to a cow fart. You have zero knowledge around Trans issues but you up and say you heard, acting like you are some expert.

Diversity is our strength. Except, apparently, the more diversity the military seeks, the less strength it requires. That seems to be the lesson of the Army’s physical fitness standards, which d...

We used to have pride in being an American and we don't seem to have as much pride anymore. People are really struggling for housing, groceries and medical care. Even as pay has increases it isn't enough to cover the cost of living. Recent articles about the shoddiness of base housing isn't going to help in recruitment. Improve wages, housing and stress the medical benefits. Perhaps improve the housing voucher for buying a future home. Perhaps offering higher education financial loan forgiveness or better funds toward college.
In the past you have provided a financial bonus for enlistment that you might have to offer again.
Almost everyone I know is struggling financially for housing and medical. It's a real crisis right now. We have a shortage of houses and rental property and most are so expensive you must work 80 hours per week to cover rent.
We have a smaller workforce overall after families began having less kids. Families no longer had 5-7 kids. They dropped to 2 or less.

I recently had dinner with a friend who brought his son along. Of the many topics discussed that night the most intriguing was our conversation regarding the son's future and was on the fence about joining the military. I was able to share my own personal experiences from being in the service and how it allowed me to transition from high school onto college and then onto the civilian world. Keep sharing your experiences because the youth have much to offer all branches of service.

Stop sugar coating life to them the military motto to soldiers.. You want to grow up, you want to build character, learn healthy habit & discipline join the military because it will provide "induce stress in a control environment" to challenge yourself.
