What study activities, exercises, and or practices has anyone used to take and pass the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)?

Ladies and gentlemen, I am coming to the veteran community once more for advice on a matter of professional advice, not so much military. I recently took a position as a GTA at my university and was assigned to our ESL Prep program. I am helping a small group of foreign-language speakers study for the TOEFL, and I would like to know what kinds of study activities, exercises, and or practices aided others in passing the test. Thank you all in advance!

I apologize, I should have put this in my first response: some of the best practice was being divided into small groups and discussing/answering the questions in a conversational setting before ever doing anything on paper. This exercise usually has a great effect of building confidence in the language.

The best practice I found was doing the short essay practice questions over and over again. Doing so with a tutor at first will be a plus, but once they have a good understanding of what the questions are like and can interpret the basic question and can string together a coherent and applicable response, they'll be all set. The test isn't like the SAT or ACT, it's a lot easier and the biggest issue people face is getting intimidated by it.

When I purchased the TOEFL for a friend, they granted us access to practice questions for preparation. Outside of that, there are so many tools it's hard to narrow them down. YouTube actually has several channels that are good for TOEFL study. My friends use Korea EBS as well, but those students are using Korean as their primary language.
I can ask my friends which channels, tools, and programs aided them most if that would help. They have a good variety of things that worked for them.
