I was falsely charged with going AWOL for over 100 days then jailed pending a trial. I agreed to a trial to get out of the hot jail in VN and I was demoted to the lowest rank and given an early discharge which I wanted. All of my personally belongings were never sent to me as they said they would.

Well, Brother Watson, The Department of Veterans Affairs Had begun giving Some of of the necessary VA benefits that they had owed me from 1978 in 1999 but as of today, they are still refusing to grant me the proper VA benefits percentage ratings and 19 years back pay from 1978 through 1997. My worst nightmare and PTSD have been what did I do to these people of our government military and the Department of Veterans Affairs and the VA Hospitals' doctors to deserve these kinds of inhumane treatments for the only country that I was willing to fight for, to depend, to serve and die for. Everyday, I beg and GOD for an answer.

PV2 Joanes Edouard - I know what you mean because I filed my first claim in 1972 which was less than a year after my discharge except it took me 14 years to get my military records. I filed again in 1991 but my claim was denied and I did not NOD so I loss again for back pay. I filed again in 2008 and I still only received back pay from 2009. I do not know about you but I am still fighting for other conditions and all of my back pay because that is what we should do except the Effective Date is based upon the date filed and not stopped or with no breaks. Keep fighting with claims, appeals or court until there is nothing else to do. Good luck.

My brother, Watson what makes things so bad for me waiting for for all theses years without the proper medical treatments and care had caused my service-connected traumatic Ear and Brain injuries and Symptoms to become so bad that there was any way of trying to repair anything with my right Ear and my Brain and Traumatic ear and Brain diseases or Symptoms. From August of 1978 through June of 1996 without no proper medical treatments from the VA Hospitals of Boston, Mass. and Brooklyn, NY, I was in Hell , and on top of it all, I was unable to work to support my family and I lost every one. My wife left me and took my kid and all members of my kin family abandoned me. GOD was my only hope and Savior. I could not believe the kind of evil and wicked men that we have in the US Army as our Superiors and care takers at the Department of Veterans Affairs Offices, the VA Boards of Appeals and the VA Hospitals, the Doctors for GOD's sakes are the most evil and wicked, some of them, because as their patients that they can do anything to you and no one will be the wiser, and their superiors protect them after killing you. they had tried to killed twice because I had refused to stop fighting for my VA benefits increase. I had been tortured and had been threaten by VA Hospital Doctors who ha refused to medical care for me and I had insisted by going their superiors, They had broken bone hurt me because of my skin color at the Boston, Mass. VA Hospital Medical Center.

PV2 Joanes Edouard - I tried to tell you that I understand as my problems began before I was discharged and after in 1971. I too did not get any help or proper treatment in 1972 even after I jumped on a train after drinking. I was denied my military records until 1986 so I could not do much, but in 1990 I began to receive treatment until 1994 when a white male doctor threw me out of the VA Hospital so I never returned in that city. I moved again after my wife divorced me but I took my two oldest daughters. I was the better parent as my wife left her two oldest children. In 2000 the trouble began again at the VAMC in Nashville with lies, but I sued the VA. I was illegally evicted because of my charges and I know that the city, county and federal government retaliated against me but I am not finished and I will not stop fighting. There are attorneys or law firms that can help if you do not want to pursue charges on your on. I have moved to another state to file charges against the previous state and hospital. The worse experiences that I have suffered have been by African Americans [AA] who have joined the whites to back stab any other AA's.

Most difficult thing…what I saw/experienced..they “understood” but didn’t truly get it having not been a part of or having ever seen/experienced anything close to it..

I had enjoyed everything about my experiences in the military, especially the Basic Training exercises and shootings because my dad had spent 24 years in the military and he had raised me and my older brother as we were trainees under his command. So, one my reason in the military was to make my father proud and he was because I had used everything that he had thought to ace all the texts in basic training and the shooting ranges. I had a lot of fun driving the military big Hummers and the big trucks, tractors, and I had learned to operate all the heavy duty equipment machines and Tanks.

Well, my Brother Watson, from the age 6 years old, my Dad had begun to train my older brother and I as trainees by teaching us about military disciplines and honors because my grand grand uncle was the first Emperor of Haiti and many of my father's family members were: generals, captains, drill sergeants, judges, engineers, accountants, doctors and nurses. However, the majority of them were military officials. Watson, this is one the reasons that I ended up enlisted in the Us Army because I wanted to be one of America's best 4 or 5 stars Generals. Unfortunately for me, It was not GOD's plan and will for me. Watson, to tell you the truth, I love the military, especially being able to serve, to protect and defend my country against all enemies.

Giving priority to the mission, it gives less time to talk directly with the family during training or when dispatching troops

The experiences of challenges faced down range, the bond of friendships to create life long networking partnerships, and the basics of structure to keep the continuity of an operation moving as if it was a well oil machine.

My mother didn't understand before I joined that as a military spouse I would be buried by the army.

How it felt to serve my country. What it was like to be in Desert Storm, at least what I could talk about.
