What time of the month do you receive retired pay? I just received my retired orders yesterday which take effect on my 60th birthday since I am a retired reservist. The paperwork I received indicated I should expect to receive my first check 30 to 45 days after I retire. My wife recently went on social security and receives her check on the second Wednesday [our shared birthday is October 9] He mom receives her social security payment on 1st of the month. I just received my retired orders yesterday which take effect on my 60th birthday since I am a retired reservist. The paperwork I received indicated I should expect to receive my first check 30 to 45 days after I retire.
My wife recently went on social security and receives her check on the second Wednesday [our shared birthday is October 9]
He mom receives her social security payment on 1st of the month.

I receive military retired pay at the end of the month or the next closest day.

I receive military retired pay close to my birthdate just like those who recently went on Social Security.

I am looking forward to military retired pay.

I left or will leave military service before I was able to retire. Else I am a civilian who never served in the military.

When you see it depends somewhat on your bank. I always see mine hit my account no later than the last business day of the month (the pay is actually set to deposit on the first of each month).

I am going to venture a guess and say you will be on the 1st and 15th like AD pay cycles when they start coming. I do know several of the retirees I have helped in the past may have had some lag time between when they were to start. Most of those were dual status technicians as well. It was hard though as once retired the system did not allow us to even view their stuff.

DFAS will direct deposit retirement payments on the first of the month. If the first falls on a weekend/holiday, then last business day of previous month.

LTC Stephen F. I am looking forward to seeing these answers. Working Finance we were only able to affect current members and once retired we lost purview and ability to help them. We could give them numbers to call and that was about the extent of it.
