What to expect from vision consult
I went to meps Monday and I was disqualified for not being correctable to 20/40 in my left eye. My right eye corrects to 20/20 with glasses. My left eye has low vision (20/80 best corrected) what can I expect at the consult I'm going to next Wednesday? Do I have a chance? Thanks

I got a wavier for myopia. It's possible but it comes down to the doctors at your MEPS, the eye specialist, and the kind of pull your recruiter has. I hope you get it my friend, I know your struggle cause I had a similar case. If you're a praying man, say some prayers for a favorable outcome

Not much to tell you. You’ll see the specialist. They will give an opinion and send it to MEPS. You will go back to MEPS. The MEPS doctor will review what the specialist recommended. If they say you are a go then they put in for a waiver. Waiver goes to waiver folks. You wait and see if waiver is approved.

Since you are getting a consult with a doctor we here on RP have no knowledge of....it is difficult to give you a proper answer. As for your chances, that is going to depend on how the exam goes at the consult. What can you expect is that you will arrive to the appointment, you will get the exam. You may be told of the results at that time....or not. The doctor will report the results to MEPS. MEPS will go from there. Good luck.
