BAMCIS? SALUTE reports? Do you ever find yourself using specific training or doctrine from your military capacity, in your non-military life. You could still be in the military and using this on your off time. Or for those who have transitioned, are any particular training, acronyms or military-organizational tools still coming in handy?

I taught my kids what my drill sergeant told us: "If you're not early, you're late." One of my sons is now in the Army National Guard, and lives by that credo.

I used my military training directly as a Southern Baptist Missionary in foreign countries. Were it not for that training and the "cultural awareness" that was involved, I would not have been prepared for the obstacles, deprivation and out-right hostility that was sometimes encountered. I would have "turned tail and run home" had it not been for the discipline and training that I received during my 20 years of service.

I have SMEAC (5 paragraph order) hanging in my office as I find myself using this item quite often in planning strategy or solutions. I ACTUALLY use this, day to day.
