Obviously, this is down at FT Riley as part of the 1st ID, but I'm not sure what downtrace this is. Any info would be grateful.

It is their 1st BCT. HBCT was a term that was used in the past for ABCT. When they updated the Force Structure, they are now ABCTs. The issue with many units is when you look in their MTOE or TDA they haven't updated their units. I am in a TDA unit and my Cadre UIC is updated but the Student UIC is not. They look completely different but they are in the same company.

Isn’t HBCT (heavy brigade combat team) an older name for armored brigades under modularity?

I've no idea, honestly. All that conversion stuff happened well after my Active Duty days

MSG (Join to see) looking at 1ID’s current force structure, first brigade is an armored brigade. I feel like HBCT was doctrinal until 2011 or so but don’t quote me on that timeframe.

I use to be stationed on the post, that is why I know a bit. Today I live outside the western gate for the post, about a mile or so.
