I was the battalion commander’s driver and admin assistant. They gave me some fantastic new ‘modular’ tent system to test during a field exercise. I absolutely destroyed the thing; tearing, puncturing, really messed it up. They were FURIOUS but the counseling showed that I had followed ALL the directions perfectly.

Pointing out the obvious stupidity in a situation.... insubordination is what they called it ..... 2 weeks with a toothbrush scrubbing the corners of the halls in the barracks ..... 1st Sargent hated me after that ....

I once saw a 2nd Lt request a Med Evac because he passed out after seeing someone lose a finger. To top that off, they got lost taking him out of the field and the guy missing a finger had to help them navigate.

I watched a first sergeant blame a PFC for blowing a diesel engine in a tank. Threatened to courts martial the poor guy all because he didn't like him.

Shooting the duty officer with a BB gun. Not me, and no one confessed, we all had to stand tall in front of the man the next day. The shot did come from my room though.

A buddy of mine said he had a pain on his butt and submitted a claim. Upon inspection, the VA doctor told his pain on his butt was just a big old pimple. No VA award for the big old butt pimple.

I was a company commander of over 200 service men and women. I consulted or verbally counseled someone for their interpretation of the tone in a text message.

Unfair workload. In the military most of us are overwhelmed. Had a member complain there was too much to do. Ugh!
