Having only been in two duty stations Fort Lewis, WA & Fort Stewart, GA I’ll share my experience.
Fort Lewis: Beautiful place to live specially if you like the outdoors but really close to the city, on the 12N side of the house I got my fair share of stick time NTC rotation, YTC rotations, FTXs, so if you have a family for me was a down but enjoyed it and got a lot of experience.
Fort Stewart, GA: Is not a bad place but everything is far away and close at the same time, you got Jacksonville, Fl within 2 hours, Charleston, SC within a little over 2 hours. But Hinesville is a small town, with only one Walmart, one lowes so a lot of driving. On the 12N side of the house the uptempo is not so crazy out here even though is a deployable unit *unlike Fort Lewis ( is not deployable) so I get to expend a lot of time with the family. Cost of living out here is way cheaper than in Washington so that’s an extra, if you have any questions let me know.

I’ve been thinking about Stewart a good amount, I’ve been at fort Lewis, fort drum and currently at fort hood now. I loved Lewis for the area but hated the unit while i was there

Is not paradise out here in Stewart but way better than Lewis at least that’s my opinion SGT (Join to see)

I’m reclassifying to 12N what would be the best duty station for me to get the best experience in terms of the work

I would say any duty station with a heavy engineer unit look for ECC ( Engineer Construction Company) Those will have most of the 12N equipment and you will be supporting your own mission if you get attached to an Infantry unit you will be supporting their mission so your will get 12N experience but based off an infantry mission and not as much as your job SPC (Join to see)
