Did it have any influence on you beyond the cartoon itself?

Lets not forget Dudley Doright, he had to have killed off about half of the tourist business in Canada while that show ran.

Looney Toons for 30 min then off to work on the farm and dealt with my little brothers who were enough of a cartoon that I got my laughs in.

My favorite cartoon was Transformers and Thundercats because they were awesome!
My favorite comic strip was Dennis the Menace because that little kid did some wild stuff, quite the imagination he had.

Those cartoons made me rush home from school every day. When there was a rerun on, we would just play outside an extra hour. Ahhh the good old days.
I am forced to watch Barbie cartoons with my daughter so I am pretty hip on those too.

Starblazers AKA Space Battlehip Yamato (it came from Japan)(Remake is damn good called Space Battleship Yamato 2199)
Robotech
Looney Tunes
Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers
Tom and Jerry
Due you sense a Sci-fi theme here... lol

TSGT Hurley, I prefer the original Macross anyways...too bad Bandai is very stringent with licensing. Likely we'll never see the sequels to Macross in the US outside of bootleg copies (which I will neither confirm nor deny that I own).

Also, because of Harmony Gold here in the US too. Manga Entertainment released Macross Plus, and the first Macross movie here in the states. But like you said, the licensing is the issue if any of them including Frontier, will ever be allowed in the states.

Voltron and Battle of the Planets as far as cartoons went.
The Far Side as far as comic strips go.

Voltron was pretty good. I never got to see it unless I was staying at my grandma's house. They didn't show it where I lived. We didn't have cable and she did.

BoP got a remake in the mid 1990s and was named to its old Japanese title "Gatchaman". You can find a lot of the full episodes on youtube by searching "Gatchaman OVA".
