What Was Your First Big Purchase After Separating or Retiring?

Got out Jan.19, 1972 in Oakland. Spent a week in San Francisco with my sister then cme home to my parents. Day after I got home I went looking for a car and found a 1967 Red Mustang. Bought it with the money I saved while in Vietnam and I still have it. I also ,while on my second tour, got a letter from my best friend that his uncle wanted to sell 3 acres of land for $900. I had to make a MARS call to get my Mom to use my money and buy the land. I still have the land. I kept $50 a month and sent the rest home. Land and car cost $2150. Not bad for 2 tour in Vietnam.

Wasn't anything too fancy, just a car that own and is my daily driver.

A brand-new Car! I always was only able to afford a used one.

First vehicle was given to me by my father. The Santa Fe was my first vehicle I purchased.

My first big purchase after separating from the military was a house. I had to take advantage of the VA loan benefits, which are to good to pass up.

Payed off my car.

Coming back to the US to finish retirement paperwork after buying a home sight unseen by myself.

My first purchase after getting home from Vietnam was a Honda 500cc bike. It was a beauty and took me many places!
