I purchased a high-end, best available Dell laptop computer before starting my MBA at the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business.

We bought a house in N.J. It was a 3 bedroom, 1 bath on half an acre. That was a big decision, because we were living with my wife's parents when I EAS'd, and it was taxing on all of us. Then, shortly after we closed on the house and moved in, I was approached by the Corps, since I was still on IRR. I wasn't sure if I would have been able to afford the payments if I was recalled. Then I tried to get hired on at the Secret Service, and knew I would have had to relocate to DC or somewhere else, and sell the house we had only been in for less than a year. Talk about stressful.

My first big purchase after I retired was a new laptop and wardrobe (civilian seabag). It was time to transition my military attire into civilian attire one, then it was off to school for Pharmacy Technician and Automotive Technician (UTI) certifications!

I bought a new car to get back and forth to college. I had one but I needed something much better on gas. It was a SMART purchase! (the car was a SMART ForTwo Cabriolet)
