What Was Your First Big Purchase After Separating or Retiring?

It took some years after seperating that I was able to buy a house. Thanks to the VA loan system.

I purchased a house that has been repossessed and damaged. I paid a guy to fix the damage and later put a new metal roof on it with my Step Dad and his brother. We went through a Tornado in it, the roof held. And we lived there for 7 years.

My first big purchase after separating was getting a new sound system for my big drive home. I was stationed in Florida and was driving back to California for the first time ever. I went to an audio installation place and had a major audio system upgrade installed so that I can keep myself wide awake for the next 4 days of driving I was preparing for.

My first big purchase was a car. How I miss the gas prices of long ago.

My first big purchase was a Dodge Avenger. I purchased at auction, and installed after factory parts. I then installed a new engine and finished with a fresh paint job.
