What Was Your First Big Purchase After Separating or Retiring?

A house in Boulder Creek, CA. It had a great view of the valley below and I enjoyed every minute I lived in that home. I got a job at Lockheed Missiles and Space Systems and commutted to Sunnyvale. The beach was close at Santa Cruz and the 200 foot redwoods were closer. A paradise.

A college education. Of course, I was married at the time I was discharged and had a wife and son to take care of so I worked full time for the post office. Had four children, a degree and three sons by graduation as well as a job as editor of a weekly newspaper.
