What was your largest and most unexpected hurdle to jump during separation? (Aside from Job Placement)

Learning that the corporate world is more interested in saving money than doing the right thing, like following laws and their own standards. Had to adjust my attitude: "It's better to be employed than right." Only took me one firing to figure that out.
