I would advise you to take any assignment in Germany or Italy ( if you are airborne qualified) you can get.

Korea could also be a great learning opportunity.

Otherwise Conus is Conus. You’re either training to go to NTC/JRTC or stationed at NTC/JRTC.

I would advise any young single Soldier to try at least one, OCONUS tour in their career. Korea, Germany, Hawaii, Alaska. Preferably a different country and culture.

Rgr, currently on rotation in Korea. Covid definitely ruined Korea for me .

SPC (Join to see) Korea on rotation is completely different than Korea on assignment. It's the same for Marines in their first tour in Okinawa - a tour the Army people love is one they hate because they don't have freedom. You don't get a chance to enjoy a country when you're locked down.

Fort Campbell....all other stations are horrible.
Loved Campbell, hated 2CR, hated 3ID, and seeing how 4ID treats its Soldiers - would've hated that too.

EDIT - didn't give much of why: Keep in mind a LOT of reasons for good v bad stations comes down to those in command at the time - posts and units DO change. I was at Campbell 04-07 - when war was "fun", so we were doing lots of fun stuff like demo, ranges galore, etc... the other places were when the ROE started getting in the way of the fight/turned more towards stability rather than warfighting...which is much less "fun"
Campbell is in an amazing area, lots of major cities within 6 hr drive, and Clarksville is by far the 2nd best city right outside a post (Co Springs if ALL that Carson has going for it). It's light - aka not mechanized and you will walk everywhere, there's no month long gunneries and annoying crap...because it's light. amazing history, great inter-BDE rivalries, it's great there.
