what will happen if my tattoos do not conform to the new AR?

I currently have six tattoos below my elbow and knee, according to the new AR i can only have four

You should be grandfathered and the only problem you might have is if you want to become an officer. I don't think the new regulation is right. Tattoos don't make a soldier any less professional. I can understand not allowing them on the hands and neck. Below the elbow and knees makes no since to me.

The information I saw stated that all services will have any existing tattoos photographed and those photos will be stored in an online database as proof that your tattoos have been grandfathered in. The regulation will only cover any additional artwork you may consider getting.
