What will happen with SRB at the start of Fiscal Year 19?

The Army cancelled SRB until further notice. I’ve read this was only to avoid going over budget for the current fiscal year. Anyone have insight on the situation? Will the SRB get an overhaul at start of the new fiscal year or will they reinstate the most recent one?

The guidance issued from DA is that the SRB issued on 1 Oct will be identical to the current one.

That’s exactly what I wanted to here! Especially since I just got everything in order for reenlistment and it’s a(was until reinstated) tier 8 bonus.

My 2 cents in the discussion: although having a bonus upon re-enlisting is a great good thing, it shouldn’t be a priority on your decision to stay in!

Definitely not a priority for my reenlistment, sir. A benefit that feel is well deserved and would benefit my large family.

Nothing wrong to cash few bucks from Ol’e Uncle Sam so long your focus is in the real game: fight America’s Wars and win!

Where did you see that the Army have suspended SRBs? In a MILPER or ALARCT? I’ve not heard this, but then again I don’t qualify for SRB. More details would help, because I didn’t see this discussed in the new NDAA.

Sir, it came out in MILPER message 18-287, issued on 7 SEP 2018. It does say it expires NLT 1 October 2018. I’m just wondering if they will develop a new SRB MILPER or just if the previous one will be reinacted. 18-287 only states it suspends Regular Army SRB.
