What would be the best move for my career as an Machinist's Mate?

I will be going up for orders in a couple of months, and have been trying to decide on what and where I should try to be stationed. I am currently a Small Boat Engineer, and have not been to a ship before. What I have been leaning towards so far has been going to an LHD to go to some of the few pure Steam ships still in the fleet that aren't nuclear. However, I would also really like to go on a Destroyer, Cruiser, or continue to work on small boats with EOD or the Riverines.
