If you had the opportunity to speak with the New VA Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Doug Collins what would you ask him or what would you like to say to him? Please keep professional.

Thank you,

I would ask why when they were finally getting positions filled, especially in mental health, they are cutting staff . Of course I would have plenty of other questions but I assume someone would have asked by the time is was my turn

Veteran's suffering from exposure to toxic substances other than Agent Orange should be included in the Pact Act without the geographic requirements of Vietnam or campaign requirements. For example those whose MOS included the flight lines of aircraft carriers where they were exposed to aviation fuels or hydraulic fumes.

Insect spray from trucks that ran at night, especially at both my bases that had huge drainage ditches alongside the roads. You could not get to the next footbridge before you got doused head to toe.

Why? I used to work at a VAMC. You have no idea how much time is wasted on awards, picnics, and other self-comgratulatory activities. Not to mention rooms full of unopened cartons of who-knows-what. The waste is staggering. My fave? $5,000 for a speaker to entertain the Execitive Cmte.

How about a commissary in states that do not have one like New Hampshire, so the Service connected and retired Veterans and their families can benefit from the lower prices?

I would like to ask the new VA Secretary if he would like me to head up a Division in the VA that looks into some of the major problems perceived about the VA. For example, there seems to be a problem with long wait times. I would offer to put my Division on that.

I used to be Active Duty. I also use to be Reserve Duty. I am currently a Civilian Employee of the DOD. That means that I have extensive experience with the military, and I am also a problem-solver.

My Active Duty and Reserve experience drove me to find solutions. I would ask him if he would like me to help him find solutions for the VA.

I would ask why MST survivors have to PROVE they were harassed or assaulted. Every single person I know who filed a claim was denied, no matter what they put in their claim to PROVE they were assaulted. I gave, the initials of the person who assaulted me, the date, where it happened, the colors in the room he assaulted me in, EXACTLY what happened to me, and the fact he had a boxer dog CHAINED to the wall in the room. Not good enough, more proof needed. REALLY? If a person who was harassed or assaulted can give credible evidence, the claim should automatically be approved. Back to deny first. Appealing the denial was not something I wanted to go through; I was not about to undergo a physical exam and stand before a stranger and repeat everything I had already told them. First, we're assaulted, then we're assaulted again writing it all down, then we're supposed to be assaulted AGAIN by an exam and examination by a stranger. Just not something I could go through again. There should be an automatic assignment of disability and amount of disability rating depending on how much information is given in the claim.

At this point, I think that I would stay away from him so as to not fly off the handle and say something very disrespectful.
