I don't know what to think about this other than I hate that he will lay next to the very people he hated and shamed for so many years. I don't see the headstone lasting very long. What do you think?

Well, if this is true... I know a few grave robbers... Just kidding. But IF IT WAS TRUE. That's just plain cruel towards the fallen soldiers' families... and karma for his family and followers. You hated us, you can be buried next to us. See you at the next civil war, satan.

This thread is where the Army needs to look for QSP candidates. Anyone who actually fell for this does not have the mental faculties to be a service member..

You must not understand how QSP works then to have that response. So when your QSP'd out of the military and still get an honorable discharge remember you were the one that said it is derogatory in nature. As the military downsizes measures to control personnel strength have come back into play (i.e. RCP, QMP, and QSP). Of the the three QMP and RCP the Soldier had some control in regards to falling into that category. However, under QSP stellar Soldiers can be separated from the military.

I do get how it works. But if you love the military, and want to stay, and are kicked out, regardless of the discharge, you're still being kicked out. It completely upsets all your goals, your dreams, your plans, and your hopes. If that's not a derogatory action, then I guess I don't know what is..

So your thought process leads you to believe that a medical discharge is a derogatory action because the recipient may live the military and wish to stay in even though they are being "kicked out" of the military? I suppose that being laid off and being fired are the same in your mind as well. There is a difference in feeling bad about no longer being allowed to serve and committing actions which preclude you from being allowed to continue serving; the latter being derogatory while the former not necessarily so. q

You wouldn't? And while being laid off and fired are different, they are both still a negative, undesirable...

I think he gave up that "right" when he chose to protest the funerals of our fallen comrades. The constitution is not a get out free card.  So he served. If he got out and became a traitor should he sill be allowed to be buried in Arlington?

May God have mercy on his soul. I am just amazed no one arranged the meeting with his maker.

Maybe the question was worded wrong, I saw the source and actually researched Fred Phelps first to see how "in line" this story could be. I was simply starting a conversation about the hypothetical situation that this hateful human being could possibly lay next to the men and women that served their country honorably and fought this very mans right to protest the way he did. I had never heard of duffleblog before the other day but I did check the story out before posting this discussion.

Here is an update to the story on what HIS family has to say....

This is an individuals choice to do as they want, but we should not drop to his level of dealing with things.

Daily Currant is another satire website folks. Seriously. If you find it ironic, it's probably for a reason. Use your head.

my first reaction is to organize a protest. But in the end he served his time and deserves his honor, even when he did not give it to others.

This whole issue is just so dumb, anyway.  Other than the 8 or so people that followed this guy (most of whom were his kids) NO ONE thinks this guy was justified, and NO ONE supported him.

All these people work themselves up with these online condemnations of WBC and FP. It's kind of like saying, "Hitler sucks" or "I hate Stalin."  Yes, you're right; but no, you're not exactly stepping out on a limb there.

I realize I'm not making it any better by adding yet another commentary about it, but I'll just be glad to see this entire issue die off.
