I am a 19D SSG being stationed at camp Atterbury in May. Had some questions about what OC/T life is like there and suggetions on places to live. I like to fish and hunt so would rather be further to indy then closer. Anyone that can share with me info on the area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was stationed there for a long time. Camp Atterbury has been mostly a INARNG post until it was Federalized under Title 10 for the OIF/OEF deployment support mission it undertook. Now that those have ceased to all but exist, it'll be quiet once again... not that the area was ever exceptionally busy. Edinburgh and Taylorsville are sleepy little towns, though they have developed in some years. I'm originally from the area, so I can answer any questions you might have.

There's tons of fishing around Atterbury. Just make sure your fishing license is up to date, and you're fine. DNR does patrol that area quite frequently. Atterbury actually has cabins on post near Foxfire lake. It's nice from what I remember.

Did you ever go to Atterbury? I'm headed that way this December.
