We all know were a Solider 24/7 but is that used correctly?
Here is what I'm talking about, I can be drunk when off duty provided i commit no wrong doings, i can be drunk on duty when called with no warning during a time when i would have had reasonable time to sober up before reporting in.
However, I must be clean shaven 24/7 because i am on duty 24/7 even when on leave or at home on a Sunday afternoon.
My issue with this is 2 fold, I hate double standards and although these topics differ greatly the same reasoning cannot be used to apply the rules in opposite directions. Second very few men have faces that can tolerate a close shave 365 days a year without issues, your skin has to heal at some point or we will all end up with shaving profiles. i had no issues with 5 days a week, 6 sometimes, but personally after about 10 days my skin has issues.

Who does it? According to the new AR670-1, SM has to be clean shaven while in uniform or in civilian attire while On Duty. Thing is, I've heard many SNCO's say that even off duty you have to be clean shaven. What is your input in this matter? Do you shave while on leave or on the weekends?
I usually don't shave on weekends or on leave, and I live On Post. I've been downrange for the past 10 months so the new AR 670-1 came out while I was out here. Don't know if a CSM is gonna come and chew my butt out for not shaving on a Saturday coming out of the PX lol.
