I work for Union Pacific Railroad and I think UPRR has a grat attitude about hiring those of use who have served/serving in any of the branches of our military. This company has received recognition and awards for being military friendly. We have created an employee resource group specifically designed for the military that offer in kind discussions and mentoring to those who seek another career. Maybe those who are looking for a change or a initial start in the civilian community should consider looking into the UPRR web site. Just search "UP.jobs". Drop me a comment if you would like to ask any questions.

There are a plethora of things it can mean. First, they are willing to provide discounts and or free items/goods to military personnel. For example, as the American Legion Post Commander, I approached the Dry Cleaners about having our members uniforms cleaned at a reduced price and the owner provided 50% off dryl cleaning for all American Legion members with proof of membership.
