What will victory look like in the 'War on Drugs?' Is it possible to win such a war? If so, after 40 years so far, when will we achieve victory? Should victory on the 'War on Drugs' be the goal, or should there be a shift in goals? What say you?

It's impossible, by the hands of Law Enforcement alone. If treatment were more widely available, more could come of it. Decriminalizing/"Legalizing" marijuana isn't much of a help, because crack, cocaine, methamphetamine, desomorphine, heroin and the rest of the gammott exist. And to decriminalizing/"legalizing" all of those are the worst idea anyone could ever have.

We lost that one. Jesus said, "the poor you will always have with you." But he said nothing about weed.

The war on drugs is a complete failure. Calling it such a thing is not going to help. It is popular to call a War on drugs, poverty, or something else but it isn't really a war. There has always been drugs and will always be drugs. The notion that you could defeat drug abuse is a pipe dream. We should work on mitigating the factors that contribute to drug use. That is about the best we can do in conjunction with responsible policing.
