When are military uniforms allowed at political rallies? I took this picture off my TV today at a Trump town hall meeting.

He's probably one of those guys who filmed his "surprise" homecoming. "Look at me! Look at me!", "What do you mean I don't get a discount?". You all know the type.

When you put on the uniform you represent the U.S. military (unless you are there in an official capacity). In that capacity we must remain neutral. The mere presence of a man or woman in uniform at a political event implies that the military branch for which they represent supports the candidate (in this case Donald Trump).

Is he actually a military member?
Is he on some kind of official task? Perhaps he allowed himself to get caught in the picture.
Is he retired? In which case, I still think it in poor judgment to wear and a political event. We all go through the briefs. We know we are not to attend political functions in uniform. This could be portrayed as the military's or Army's endorsement...which may be what Trump is trying to do.

That is so far beyond unacceptable that I have no words adequate to describe how I feel about this.

I agree that people who wear their uniform for attention is annoying but what is the problem with filming a surprise homecoming?

He's clearly been in long enough to know this is a violation. This is a testament to where our political climate is. There's nothing patriotic about openly defying rules; especially as a decorated serviceman with years of service. Our country is in big trouble people!

To my knowledge that is a violation under the UCMJ unless in this PC era the Army turns it head but I doubt it that officer should not be there in his uniform.

If our West Point cadets can make a racial statement in uniform in front of a army sign what is the problem here
