I was once activated on Title 10 CO-ADOS orders and received BAH w/out dependents rate. I am now on standard Title 10 ADOS orders for a year and am receiving BAH type II. I will be PCSing to Germany in a week. I was entitled to POV shipment, HHG, and to bring dependents. Though I have been told on multiple occasions that all reservists, on orders for 30 or more days, are entitled to BAH regardless of marriage status. I looked up JTR chapter 10 says this:

BAH for Reserve Component (RC) Member (BAH-RC):Paid when authorized for an RC member called or ordered to active duty for 30 or fewer days, except when called to active duty for a contingency. When an RC member is called to active duty for a contingency, even for tours of 30 or fewer days, he or she is authorized the BAH or OHA rate. The Secretary of Defense establishes BAH-RC rates.

This makes BAH-RC sound like a different entitlement than BAH. Could any elaborate on receiving BAH? Thank you.

Have you talked to your S1 or Company admin? If you're on orders for more than 30 days, you "should" be getting regular BAH.

Sir, that was the first step. Unfortunately I havent been able to reach my S1 or UA. I contacted my NCOIC as well. So I defaulted to asking on this site. I appreciate the answer, Sir.

Keep following up. Once it's straightened out, they'll process back pay.

MAJ Milan George Sir, they simply replied asking if I had any dependents, insinuating I'm not entitled to BAH unless I have dependents. Am I wrong about me being entitled to BAH? I cant find a reg about this on JTR.

SGT (Join to see) - I believe you are entitled to it, but i'm not an HR guy. If you're not getting the answers you need from your S1 shop, take it to your NCO chain and get their assistance.

BAH-RC is different. It is for SMs on active duty for 30 days or less; it is also referred to as Non-Locality BAH or Transient BAH. Non Locality Rates are used across the whole compo-spectrum. For example RA SMs when PCS'ing, this BAH Rate that is paid when a SMs departs from a location where he/she was in the barracks.

If your current Title 10 ADOS orders are for more than 30 days then you should be receiving BAH w/out dependents now. A couple years ago, there was a requirement to have an updated DA5960 in RLAS (more details on this if needed). Any SM on active duty more than 30 days without RLAS being updated will received the Non Locality BAH rate with or without dependents. To my knowledge there is no "RC" version of OHA but it is in your best interest to fix your current BAH situation now (before you leave your managing finance office.

Would you mind elaborating on RLAS? And by chance, would you know the exact reg detailing my entitlement to BAH? I contact my unit ARA, and he honestly doesnt seem too sure whether or not I'm supposed to draw BAH. I was hoping they could fix it but they keep saying if I'm in the barracks I dont receive BAH. Though, everyone is saying i should be receiving that benefit

You are receiving BAH-RC due to a pay problem most likely caused by not providing a DA 5960 with the order for pay, or the 5960 may have been processed, and this was a simple error.
You will have to contact your unit to fix this, so attempt contact several times a day every day. They will need your LES, so download that and email it.
