If you signed your contract and did your Oath of Enlistment, then you are hereby in the Reserves. What you can tell people is that you enlisted in the Reserves but you have not shipped out for training yet.

SPC (Join to see) - Welcome to the Reserves. Hopefully you will get to drill in person before you ship. I have had quite a few troops I have not met or inprocessed yet due to Covid.

Yep, your time in service started the moment ink was put to paper. Your TIME IN SERVICE and TIME IN GRADE clock has already started ticking. I'd recommend getting to your next unit drill day (I'm guessing COVID-19 has hindered that).

You really need to get in contact with your unit. Know who your platoon SGT is, how to reach them, and how to figure out to know what your training schedule is once you are out of Basic Training and AIT.

Among my first questions with new soldiers in my unit are:
1) Are you working or going to school?
2) Do you have a car, and can you get to drill?

Yes so my Recruiter recommended for me to do that and that is my plan I was told I’d have to wait til I got my military ID which I’m am currently working on!

SPC (Join to see) - you DO NOT have to wait to get your military ID. I didn't get mine until I was in Basic with everyone else. Some things are hindered without one, but you can go to drill and sign the attendance roster and get paid to be there. If they hook you up with an ID, great. But it's not stopping anything right now.
