We were denied taking any leave days while on mission (we being soldiers who were opting not to extend to stay on the mission), are we allowed to take leave after our orders end?

So I am not familiar with title 32 orders I am with title 10 so I'm sure that it is the same. which I have been on these orders lots of times. Once those orders end you are off Active duty and put back into your status no if, ands, or butts unless you get extended. Now most Battalion CO's I've had would let you use your leave at the end of tour if it was doable before the end date on your orders. But chances are you will be selling back that leave which sucks because they tax the shit out of it.

Thanks! They said the leave is use or lose, so we can’t sell it back. I guess I will wait and see what 15 Sept brings.

SGT (Join to see) - I don't know how the national guard truly works but that is absolutely wrong. Especially if you are Federally activated.
You only use or loose leave when you are over 60 days carrying more into the next fiscal year. I don't know who is telling you that nonsense but that is absolutely wrong. You earned those days of leave if you were not allowed to take it then you sell them back which it is only basic pay nothing else and it is taxed very high.

If I was in your unit I would definably look under the regulation for title 32 orders because just a quick glance and it seems to be the same as title 10 orders so regulations need to be pulled because you are entitled the same benefits as any service member coming off Active Duty.

Thank you so much! A lot of what is going on with the leave seems very wrong to me. I am coming from AD so how NG works is a bit confusing to me.
