When is it correct to salute with your left hand?

sniper search sir! lol we had a brand new second LT in my unit who insisted on being saluted in the field on his first field problem with the unit. Until a couple of us passed him and saluted (left handed) and stated Sniper search sir he stopped us and asked us why we did that. We told him why. That a field problem is to be treated as if you are in combat and if he wanted his troupes to salute him in combat he would be a target for a sniper. That was the last time he was saluted in the field.

When you lost your right arm

When your right hand is medically incapable

As a civie, not sure the proper angle, but always with the right. With the left..umm...when you don't have a functioning right arm?

When your right hand is incapacitated due to an injury.

When your right hand is MIA

When you are a gate guard with two oncoming lanes of yraffic.

Never.
