When it comes to quality of life, San Antonio. Now, requesting and getting station there is a different issue and it depends:
1. MOS
2. Rank
3. Needs of the Army (special emphasis)

Fort Hood has its moments like any other base or post I’ve been to. Obviously, Fort Hood has more eyes on it but it’s in the middle of Texas and allows your to go venture out and see other cities. In my opinion, it’s not that bad. Could be a lot worse.

And is in the middle of nowhere. Killeen and surrounding areas are crappy place, no apologies. The nearest decent place is Temple and has not much to entertain. That been said, we go wherever duty calls and do our job to the best of our abilities!
