When switching from Army Reserves to Active Duty, can I reclassify from 74D to 11B?

I’m wondering if I can reclass to 11B from 74D. I recently got my conditional release started. I haven’t gone to MEPS yet. I’m not sure on how any of this works. But I hate the reserves. Been here for 4 years. I love the army I want more. But if I can’t reclass to a Combat MOS I’m not sure I wanna go active. I just don’t wanna get shafted.

So the deal is ....your gonna get shafted no matter what in the army....it is just gonna happen.
I advise you look at the most recent update to the army's Prior Service Buissness Rules
If you want to come to active duty to reclass to another mos, that mos must be listed as having vacancies
But 11x is currently on that list for e1-e4
Your current MOS 74D, is also available to come to active duty as well. Go check it out. I can assist you with the component transition seeing though as I have done it myself. Give me a message anytime for any questions.

Well, you got the ball rolling. Now you have to wait until all signatures sign approval. Then you go to MEPS. If 11B is open and on your list of qualified job selections when you go to MEPS, then it's yours.

SPC (Join to see) - It is needs of the Army when you go and if when that date at MEPS they do not have what you want, walk away. I switched from the Guard to AD back in 1996 and did not have the knowledge to walk away. I regretted the next year.

SPC (Join to see) - That's all going to depend on your ASVAB scores. If you qualified for CBRN....I'm betting 11B will be open to you. As long as there is open availibility

I can't imagine you'd have any issue getting a class seat for a combat MOS
