I am jumping from army Infantry to Maintenance in the Airforce. Its already happening so save you topics of 368 and blah blah. I did that. What I want to know is my uniform. I know the blue cord cannot follow me but what about my other ribbons? And what about my marksmanship badge???

MSgt (Join to see) - fortunately he is not a unit ;o) Temporary unit awards would not transfer. Permanent ones DO however.

SFC Michael Hasbun - I should have said a unit specific Outstanding Uint Citation. Presidential and Joint are fine.

MSgt (Join to see) - That's not the relevant distinction. All permanent unit awards transfer. All temporary ones do not.

SPC (Join to see) Forgot to mention if you are in the Army Guard State ribbons are not authorized in the Air Force or Air Force Reserve. Not positive on state awards from Army Guard to Air Guard.

SPC (Join to see) - Best to check, each state has their own ribbons. Good luck in your new endeavors.

National Guard ribbons transfer from Army to Air and vice-versa. However, awards from a different state may not be authorized for wear in your current NG state. Check into you NG state awards manual to find out if you can wear them or not.

Ribbons yes (unless unit specific like unit citation, no), badge no, the Air Force has a Marksmanship ribbon.
